There are so many Health Reform teachings that we see in the world today. Time and time again Health Reform teachings change. Hence the worldly teachings of Health Reform changes so frequently. It is interesting to see how GOD managed Health Reform when the children of Israel advanced to the promised land. History {George Rosen. A History of Public Health (1958), p. 63 – 65} has a lot to teach us about the Health Reform that God used for the children of Israel.

Let us look at the Health Reform experiences of the children of Israel. Exodus 15 and 16 provide basic principles of curative and preventive Health Reforms. One need to do deep study into these chapters in order to see the principles. The story at Marah was about Curative medicine. It was about the use of natural remedy. God then introduce the principle of preventive medicine on Exodus 15: 26. This preventive principle was then applied in Exodus 16: 1 - 6. Here we can see that God used curative Health Reform before He used preventive Health Reform. He cured their needs first before He asked them to follow His preventive Health Reform teaching. I can see that the first miracles that God introduced after the crossing of the Red Sea were about Health Reform (curative & preventive Health Reforms).

I can see that the obedience to the Health Reform principles were pivotal to their successful entrance into the promised land. One will appreciate this importance when one considers the interrelationship of the mind and body.

It is important to see that God put more emphasis on prevention than on curative Health Reform. To deal with the real cause of the problem through preventive Health Reform. However, it is interesting to see that the world spends more money on curative medicine than on preventive medicine.

God then introduce the rest of the principles (messages) of His Health Reform throughout the 4o years of wondering in the wilderness. These principles were on diet, exercise, clean water & sanitation, sunshine, temperance, clean air, rest and the choices that depended on their faith and trust in God. All these health principles were taught in the wilderness. These were the cornerstone principles (teachings) of the Health Reform for the children of Israel.

One will see that God aimed to restore His character in the lives of the children of Israel before they enter the promised land. At the same time God aimed to eliminate the sufferings that they experienced when they were in Egypt. Yes, God wanted the children of Israel to follow the Health Reform teachings before they enter the promised land.

Psalms 105: 37 shows that God'd method of Health Reform worked for the children of Israel worked. Time and time again medical historians had proved that these same principles had helped to save lives in national & global disasters.
